SS
Hi guys,
We were gonna do 2John this week and I was pondering what to do after the Johns and I came up with this idea.
I am wanting to read through the Bible this year and it would be great to do that with some friends and accountability. So I was curious if you guys would be interested in this? Here's my idea:
There are 1189 chapters in the Bible.
There are 51 weeks left this year, or roughly 359 days left.
If we subtract out 1 day / week as kind of a "catch up" day in case a day is missed, that would leave 308 days.
1189 chapters / 308 days = 3.86 chapters / day - let's round up to 4 chapters / day.
My ideas is this: If we start this week, our goal is to read 4 chapters / day or 24 chapters each week. While we read, we jot down questions that come to mind or things that made us stop and pause. Perhaps it's something new we read that we may or may not have read before that just strikes up anew this time. Or perhaps it's just something we want to discuss with others.
Then we come together on Sunday during SS and share with each other the things we jotted down, questions, etc.
We then continue reading the next 24 chapters, making notes, and then discuss in SS.
Would you guys be up for this challenge? What do you think?
